Montague Catholic Social Ministries is an independent, community-based non-profit organization. Our board of directors is made up of members of the local community and is supported by public resources, private foundations, our local parishes and individual contributions. In Our Words“I was isolated - got through the door and did some programs - everything was right there. I've clicked my heels and I've come home.” -Women’s Center Participant “From our very first visit we felt welcomed by the warm, child centered atmosphere.” -Family Center Participant “When I first came to the women’s center, I was in a bad place. They took me in and nurtured me with conversation and creativity. The bad place was going away. They allowed me to teach two art classes, Healing Through Color. I worked with the children, which lifted my spirits. I have seen others come in and go through the same process. They seem to crawl out of a shell, as did I. Thank-you.” -Women’s Center Participant
“This place saved my sanity.” -Women’s Center Participant
“I was able to regain custody of my son because of the help you gave me in finding an apartment.” -Basic Needs Participant “The center has been an oasis to me. As a new mother, in a new neighborhood, I was thrilled to be introduced to this welcoming and inviting place.” -Playgroup Participant
“The baby is only 8 weeks old. There was a lot offered in the area when I was pregnant, like prenatal and birthing classes. But, we haven’t been able to find an actual parenting class anywhere. We were so happy to hear about this support group” -Parent to Parent (P2P) Participant
“I’m learning how to put other things aside and spend more time reading to my son. Before I know it, he’ll be in preschool. I don’t want him to think of books and reading and studying as something he is forced to do...but something that he loves…” -Connecting Through Literacy (CTL) Participant “I’ve had the best friendships come out of this place ... the best because we all started in the same place.” -Women’s Center Participant
